Today is a big day. Today Julia’s dear friends Nadia and Andrew are getting married. (Tomorrow, I fly out to San Fran for five weeks).
On a busy day like this, who wants to worry about making breakfast ![]()
At 8:30, Sharla, Julia and I went to Cafe Zen.

I was looking forward to eating here since Julia mentioned it has some of the best bennies in Vancouver.

Our conversation was fairly light as we each woke up.
At the table next to us was quite the smooth talker. He was with a more soft spoken friend and “wise man”. The talker was speaking about a new product that he figures will be “IT” as his company moves forward with documenting the scientific benefits, demonstrating the benefits, and warming up their marketing machine. He joked something about keeping things hush-hush, so catching his eye, I jokingly pretended to take notes. An interesting conversation about my own activities and his followed.
His name is Bart Bridge and his professional role is investor relations. I should have guessed that he was in relations of some type. He communicates very well.
I also should not be surprised that his name is Bart. Most guys that I am meeting recently are named Bart: Julia’s father and the CEO of my company, Flock Inc, the one and only, Bart Decrem.
So what is “IT”, you ask. Well, I asked if he minded me blogging about it, and he said sure. It is a “Total Immersion Personal Computing Environment”.

Cool! I have strong views about ergonomics and usability, and even without taking it for a spin, I can identify a number of things that I really like about it. It looks like a significant step forward! (punny)
Rather than talking something up without playing with it, I will see if Bart Bridge reads this, and maybe then he will be interested in putting his product where his mouth is, LOL, and sending one down to Bart “knows what he likes and is good biz” Decrem, Chris “Mr. Usability” Messina, Andy “straight talking” Smith, myself and rest of the flock team, to take it for a ride. Otherwise, I will be back in six weeks for a month, and maybe PCE will let me work out of their office for the month
So what is the value of a breakfast out? Good food without the work is number one! You also meet some interesting people, and create an opportunity to increase your social experience! Great value at 12$.
