A bill has quietly passed the US Senate outlawing online gambling in the USA. Both those links to concise analysis by my brother Dylan.
Why? Because the religious right and the casino are both powerful lobby groups.
USA is a weird place. Lots of wonderful freedoms, but also a lot of manipulation by the powerful (capitalism). Is online gambling something the government should protect its citizens from?
On the bright side, poker affiliates were some of the worst web spammers. Perhaps that will subside since the money won’t be there anymore.
