Only $25 Million for Life on Earth

British airline tycoon Richard Branson announced a $25-million prize for the first person or group to find a way to remove billions of tonnes of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.

Reports CBC.ca .

I am hoping others will match that amount, because we need a lot of financial insentive to safe our lives.

It’s not so much a matter of removing, but more of cutting down emissions to a significantly lower amount. One way to do this is to simply find an alternative to cement. Cement production is one of the most (if not the most, as I recall from class) prolific producers of CO2. Additionally, sustainable buildings that include green methods of heating/cooling (ie green roofs) reduce the energy required for thermal changes, therefore reducing CO2 required in the entire process.

    This shouldn’t be a right/left deal.
