Money or human life?

Miss Rogue asks a question that I have long been interested in. “What means more to you, money or human life?” Does your answer depend on how the question is phrased? You say that, but what do your actions say?

For most situations this should be a no brainer. Human life should always supersede money. But then again, there are some who would take their money before they even consider thinking about anyone else. For me I feel that the true answer would arrive dependent upon which human’s life we are talking about. For example: If I am held at gunpoint and someone says give me your money or else I will kill this child (friend, family member, acquaintance, et al), I would surely hand over the money because that human’s life holds greater value than my money. However, if the same question were posed, hand over your money or else I will kill this madman (murder, rapist, terrorist et al), I would be definitely thinking twice before handing my money over if I do at all. I guess ultimately this question is not something that I can pass a general judgment on, rather this question, for me, is only answerable on a case by case basis.

How the questions is asked is key: I think more about money, but I am more passionate about life. Still, I’d rather save a buck and execute a criminal than pay to house him for life. And I’d rather be taxed for welfare babies than taxed for abortions.
