Shouldn’t all jobs in all fields be like that? That would be a free culture.

    And Tantek had similar sentiments when describing how he’d worked hard on browser engines at MS for years and years and left with basically nothing to show for the last couple of years of it.

    Ian, I think many of us free culture fellow have been there. I spent the first four years of my career becoming one of the premier experts in DB2 High Availability, Backup and Recovery. I had a lucrative career ahead of me being an expert on that proprierary system.

    Now, I have a good career and feel good every day!
