Julia wrote the California Basic Educational skills Test (CBEST) Saturday morning. This test is a requirement for graduate studies to become an elementary school teacher. Julia will be an amazing teacher!
I am very proud of Julia. As well as the preparations for our wedding May 7th, Julia has completed numerous requirements to apply for school since she made the decision only a short while ago to pursue becoming a teacher.
As a foreigner in the USA, the requirements and cost are significantly increased. It feels like it would not matter if Julia had an undergraduate degree from a very foreign country. It is frustrating since Canada’s education system is so similar.
Julia is an amazing teacher of children. Since I first met Julia, I knew her to have a gift for caring for children. Now, as she pursues becoming a teacher in our school system, I realize her gifts in working with a larger group of children. For lack of a better expression, she speaks their language. Most importantly she has a gift for teaching and she cares.
She still has two difficult tests to write and other requirements, so please have her success in your thoughts and words.

That’s great news.
“As a foreigner in the USA, the requirements and cost are significantly increased.”
The costs are insane, but it is one of the only ways to get past the immigration gatekeepers to the American economy.
Good luck.
