I’m Leaving Flock

As you know, Julia and I are moving back to Victoria, BC on August 25th. This is primarily because of how challenging it has been for Julia to pursue her goals here in the US. WIth this move, after a little more than a year with Flock, I am leaving Flock, and September 15th will be my last day.

In talking with Mark, it did not seem that there would be a great fit for me to work remotely from Victoria, but Mark was willing to try it. It was a very difficult decision, but September 15th will be last day with Flock.

I already have a new job:

[I] decided to contact a few exceptional people and [have] found [myself] another opportunity [...] Most of the new company’s team works remotely, and that is what [I] will be doing too, which will allow [me] to be in Canada. To help Flock with the transition [I am] not starting at the new company until the middle of September, and [have] not publicized who [I] will be working with as [I] wants to focus on a good transition with [my] current company Flock.

[...] My boss is checkin out and moving on up. To Canada. It was news to me, and I honestly didn’t see it coming. Lloyd has been in a key role as far as my involvement with Flock and my transition to a more open source computing lifestyle, so seeing him leave will be pretty, well, strange. It’s all for the best for him and his wife Julia though. They’ll be living in a place they love, and they will be able to develop their careers in new ways. [...]
