Gno Time

I have no time. To succeed, I need to know where I have been. I am looking at some Ubuntu software to help prioritize my tasks and record what I am doing. What do you use?

I gave Gnotime 15 minutes to see if it was a solution for tracking my time. I had hoped that its only problem was that it does not have a sweet logo and icon. It was awkward trying to create an entry for the day before. Overall the user experience is awkward and has not been given any love for about a year.

Gnotime’s web site does list some “similar/different projects”. From it I tried KArm, but it does not seem to keep track of the date the time was spent. It only keeps track of the task and subtask.

The LiNUXLiNKS.com list of “timers” is a bit intimidating.

I looked at Lifehacker’s extensive list of reviews and a recent question to his readers. I am looking for a desktop application not a web based application. I plan to try Rachota and GTimeLog.

It’s a bigger job, and requires running a webserver, php and mysql on your machine/laptop, but I use GroupOffice for timetracking - it stores time by date and by project, and can even work out billing for you.
