gmail Oops & Flickr Blog Post

In these last 36 hours I have been seeing the “gmail Oops” a lot! Most of the time it really does clear up “in a few seconds”, but there has been a few times where it has been much longer.

A few people have commented that they have received duplicate emails from me. In one case, an email that “gmail” marked sent was never sent! I only found out a few critical hours later when someone asked for the status on the relevant work!

After becoming dependent on gmail over the last few months, it really affects my productivity for it to go offline. They can call it “beta” if they want to, but I know a lot of people that use it as their primary email service.

It may be time to dust off the old reliable *desktop* application, Mozilla Thunderbird.

While I wait for Gmail to start behaving itself, I thought I would take a short break from the Flock Browser and try Flickr’s “Blog this photo”.

Update: I notice that either Flickr also does not use <p> tags or WP is converting them to <br />. Now, I am seeing how it looks after updating it in Flock’s Blog editor.

Update: Almost the same. Gorgeous! And I note that the blog editor is now handling the tags smartly. Now I just insert my <!–more–> in the source.

Nice. Now what the blog editor needs is a way to select categories. Or atleast an option for a default category instead of the current ‘uncategorized’.

I would also like a way to switch between WYSIWYG and HTML edit mode in the blog editor. That would be peachy keen.
