Firefox 2 and Ubuntu 6.10

This has been a great week for two of the software products I care most about. Firefox 2 and Ubuntu 6.10. The first should be your web browser on Microsoft Windows, and the second should be if you are ready to leave your frustrations with Windows behind.

I’m going to switch to Ubuntu one of these days. I have two books about it lying around the house waiting to be read. :)

engtech, may i ask which two books? Books get dated very quickly, and most relevant open info is right here on the web. If you need a hand please let me know.

vmware server (free product) is your friend in planning and executing the migration from Microsoft Windows. Migrating today almost always involves a lot of hurdles and a few headaches.

I started using Ubuntu 6x on my laptop, and was glad to see that everything is where it should be and there out of the box.

But, why can’t I download and install Firefox from the firefox website, without any in depth knowledge of how Ubuntu works?
There aren’t any instructions on Firefox’s website.
