Eating in Victoria

Victoria, BC, Canada has a lot of great restaurants

A Victoria Experience

My Favorite Restaurants

Blighty’s Bistro A cozy restaurant on Oak Bay run by sincere people passionate about west coast and European dining. Everything is made in-house from scratch. You must make a reservation, they are always full. Main dish: ~$25 2006
Oak Bay Ave., Victoria 250-592-5111 Closed Sunday, Monday

J & J Wonton Noodle House is the best Chinese food in Victoria. The vegetables are always very fresh and the noodle is made on site.
Telephone: (250) 383-0680 Address: 1012 Fort Street, Victoria, BC, Canada Hours: Tues-Sat 11am-2pm and 4:30-8:30pm

Ferris’ Oyster Bar & Grill

Oak Bay Marina

The Japanese Village is a show. Their secret sauces are well secret for a good reason. A little expensive, I tend to only be able to justify going for their lunch pricing.

Il Terrazzo Awesome, Italian fine dining.

Breakfast

Blue Fox Cafe Our favorite place for breakfast. Tasty food in hearty portions — bring your tupperware. Bubble and Squeaks for me. Tandoori chicken quesadilla for Julia — which we are told is leaving the menu soon.

Shine Cafe

I Have Not Been To in a While

Camille’s This blog post brought back memories of my own few wonderful experiences going with my mom and brother.

Pagliacci’s Always insanely busy; feel squeezed in. The food is awesome.

I Want to Go To

Brasserie “l’école” Chris Robb highly recommends. Vancouver Magazine again rates it in the top five of Victoria’ restaurant. Telephone: 250-475-6260 Address: 1715 Government St, Victoria, BC, Canada, V8W 1Z4

Where We End Up Eating

Korean Gardens Arnold takes good care of you. The food is just good enough. It is affordable. I have not found a sushi place in Victoria that I am passionate about going to. 2007-04-05 Update: It has been very busy at Korean Gardens lately.

Sauce Ok food, but great place for drinks and getting together with friends.

Floyd’s Diner Pretty good breakfast most of the time. Bigger than the rest, so shortest wait. Most people seem to have had at least one mediocre/bad experience there. Flip them for your they-choose-meal, double or nothing.

Enjoy

Spice Jammers

Zambri’s Eric Kerr recently introduced me to this fantastic Italian restaurant, with one of the worst locations in Victoria.

So So

Cafe Brio: $$$, upscale. First time with friends was amazing. Second time was not not. Dylan also did not have an amazing experience the one time he went. Nadia and Andrew also recently went and the food was not that good, but fantastic ambiance.

Where I Have Gone

Pluto’s as a child I thought it was very cool. I have not been there for lunch or dinner in a long time.

Breakfast

John’s Place good food, very big portions, but I would rather have fantastic food.
