Parakey?
No, not talking butter.
Parakey: a service, a product, a platform to bring life to the web by Firefox wonderboys? A “Web operating system that can do everything an OS can do”? IEEE Spectrum article
WordPress Export and WordCamp
About a month ago, while I had Flock tunnel vision because of the release, one of my favorite softwares, WordPress — the best blogging software and service for everyone — got that much better by adding importing and exporting of your entire blog and comments on your blog. At the beginning of next month, August 5th, here in San Francisco, there will be a day full of collaboration sessions for WordPress users and developers called WordCamp.
Audience
The most important part of communication is connecting to your audience. That is what communication is.
You can’t connect to your audience if you do not know who they are.

My first snarking
I never was mentioned in the pathetic Flock Sucks blog during its life as one of WordPress.com‘s most popular blogs. Today, I had my first snarking by the silver standard [1] of valley snark, Valleywag:
Communication
The most important part of every role that I have ever had has been communication.

Is NewsForge any good?
I am looking for a open software technology news sites or periodicals where most of the content is digestible by anyone, and they have to be of high quality. NewsForge does not seem to be.

Flock “Cardinal” Milestone 11, first beta of Flock is near
Wow, we have come a long way! The product has had fantastic evolution in the four months since our last major release. I now have the most fun and productive web experience I have ever had.
Milestone 11 is here:
MSWin, MacOS Universal, Linux
* If you are running a recent milestone build, you should have already been informed of an update.
The milestone build is the best way to stay up to date. Our testing team tests to make sure that Flock is working well. Download the milestone build and you will stay up to date with additional fixes right through to the release.
The first beta of Flock should be available within the next couple of weeks. We do not know exactly when, because we are still testing and making sure it will match our and your expectations of experience and quality.
We are a small team and you have made a huge contribution to getting us here! Flock is yours, and the open source code ensures that.
Our team has grown, and we continue to hire leaders in our fields. We are still going to break rules and take risks, but I think we have reached a critical mass of experience in our team that will mean our next release cycle will have significantly more opportunity for collaboration and contribution.

People testing Flock and much deserved credit
It is the time in a release cycle when I take a first pass of making sure the people that have made Flock happen are in the credits for this release.
Michael Arrington and Techcrunch
If you you go out on the Web tonight, you will be in for no surprise, Michael Arrington will have written up…
a thorough review of the latest web product, service, or project.
For some reason, every other search I did this weekend, Michael’s Techcrunch was in the top five results. One reason is that what Michael writes is very relevant to my work and passions, and evidently many others.
I have had the great pleasure of meeting this incredible person multiple times.
