Things are moving fast . Not too fast though . Everything feels very fluid , and natural .
Today I purchased an inexpensive laptop , ACER Aspire 1692WLMi (1690) at 1499$ CND (incl gov.) to carry me through the transition .
The ACER software customizations and additionals are crap . I am not talking about core applications such as one of the top three anti-virus , CD-burning , etc . When lappy shopping does vendor-brewed software affect your decision ? I could rant about it , but it would not make it any better .
How about Linux support :-p
I think getting a new computer is my backup strategy .
Setting up a new computer is a funny thing . At first it is refreshing to get to have a clean slate , and then it becomes tedious as I tweak everything to improve usability . As others have pointed out , it really is personal computing .
I spent more time than I should have trying to get Linux Ubuntu working tonight . This laptop is notorious for being difficult to setup . I will slowly pick the problems apart over the next couple of weeks .
I miss Julia a lot , and continue to count down the days . Two more sleeps .
