September VLUG meeting
VLUG is Victoria Linux User Group. I went to their monthly meeting last night (2nd Tuesday of every month), and the topic was “mini presentations”. It was an enjoyable evening with great presentations. If you are curious to passionate about Linux or open source this is a great community to participate in. It is free and welcoming to all members of the public.
More distributed Flock team a good thing for Flock’s customers
I enjoyed lunch with my friend and former boss Clayton Stark on Monday. What a fantastic, insightful individual. During lunch I realized that Flock’s Victoria offices should contribute to Flock being able to fend off its kryptonite.

Flock’s Kryptonite
As I finish my second to last week as an employee of Flock, I have been reflecting on what I consider Flock’s greatest challenges in this tricky browser space. I think the three are:
- Be their most critical customers
- Improve customer and community relationships
- Be predictable
WordPress Upgrade and Unplanned Outages Ahead
First post with WordPress 2.0.4 . I am using its pretty blog editor. I finally upgraded from WP 1.5.2 . Maybe I should feel a little embarrassed taking so long, but if it is not broken, why fix it?
The user experience in WP2 is much improved from 1.5 , though I already knew this through Julia’s use of WordPress.com. The WordPress team does an amazing job at blazing forward. The reason I upgraded now was actualy to ease my migration of foolswisdom.com to another hosting service, AND I wanted to try this elegantly simple theme Sandbox.
I will be moving this web from XL Internet to TextDrive some time this month. So if foolswisdom.com disappears, please do come back in a few days 
Update 2006-09-07: My blog search is currently broken. Use Google. This relates to the ~tilde in my folder structure and should resolve itself when I change hosts (and folder structures).

My highest reason for blogging is simply to put my knowledge and thoughts out there for the commons. It is flattering if it is in flavor today, but I try not to be concerned with that.
