We are probably about a week away from being able to start testing extensively the next release of Flock, codename Cardinal. It’s release is planned for May.
This has allowed me to focus on feedback.
We are probably about a week away from being able to start testing extensively the next release of Flock, codename Cardinal. It’s release is planned for May.
This has allowed me to focus on feedback.
Today, I received feedback that included
"P.S. I like your new format to submit bug reports. Easier to fill in."
It reminds me to thank Gabor!
Gabor Suveg has been volunteering his time and PHP skills in making the Flock feedback form and feedback received more usable.
Most of the improvements he has done are more for me, because I was receiving a lot of blank forms and also ones with invalid formatted email addresses. You may be thinking these are little things, but these are things that no one else fixed, so it is a big help! In his own time, he is working on more improvements as well.
He is around the world, but his contribution is felt by me every day.

I attended the Blogging for Business panel hosted by the Alliance of Technology and Women because our friend Tara Hunt was on the panel and invited Julia and I, as well as our friend Vera. Alliance of Technology and Women seems like an amazing organization! It was a welcoming environment with a lot of amazing people.
Not Wil Wheaton, who did recently try Flock to Daryl’s interest. Much more exciting than Wheaton trying Flock, Will Pate is enjoying his first day as a Flock employee!
I am excited about Will joining the team because he is genuine, and a marketer. It is true!
Will is lucky, though not as lucky as I am that I call Tara Hunt friend. Because of Tara I know that such people are real.
Will is real. The few times that I have spent time with Will at various events, I have been impressed by his character. We have friends in common. His writing and work experience also speak amazingly well for him!
Welcome Will!

I will be in Victoria for about a week from Wed, Mar 29 to Tues, April 4th. I was hoping to hook up with some open source participants such as yourself while I am in Victora. Anyone interested in getting together Thursday, March 30th evening at a location with free wifi to talk open source?
I have been living and working in the Silicon Valley for about half a year. I am the Test Lead for Flock, an open source browser based on Firefox. I participate in all commons, social web, and open source initiatives I can find time for.
2006/03/25 Update: Corrected date above from May 30th to Mar 30th.
We have concluded our investigation of the bug where when starting Flock all your favorites were gone. This was del.icio.us specific, and the bug was not in the Flock browser. There are no negative effects to your favorites on del.icio.us. Unfortunately, the nature of this del.icio.us service bug, requires your manual correction.
Termie-nator answers, "What is your operating system, and what does it do? WRONG. It is Ubuntu Linux on the desktop!"
He has previously made clear that the only software developer’s text editor is vim. All these findings are meaningless compared to GNOME being the open source desktop. Oh, that is right, Bart made that clear years ago. Or did he?
Most joking aside, my desktop of choice, has hit a significant milestone today, releasing GNOME 2.14 . I remember, depending on the timing, waiting almost a year before my Linux distribution shipped with the latest released GNOME. A new version of Ubuntu called Dapper Drake will be released next month June 1st with GNOME 2.14.

Flock with Del.icio.us users, on starting the browser, have seen all of their favorites disappear. Or they have seen favorites not being sent to Del.icio.us . We currently believe that something on del.icio.us’s end has broken, causing the problem — a server is broken or they have introduced a bug. We are aggressively investigating the issue (bug 2919). This effort is led by Ian.
Update: I did not make it clear that the favorites are safe on Del.icio.us .
Wordpress hackers and testers,
I want to introduce myself. I am looking to contribute to WordPress primarily in testing and quality reporting. I will be volunteering at least 5 hours starting this week and every week until I say otherwise.
