Julia & I

Wow, what a couple of weeks! In many ways it feels like I have been on vacation, even though I have been sort of working two jobs, and have been getting ready to move. I have some of the most fantastic experiences of my life these past two weeks, and it has simply been doing things with Julia.

Yesterday, Julia and I packed up my things to bring them to her place in Vancouver. She was more than helpful! Julia made it easy, and stress free. We loaded everything on her parent’s truck, and they are coming to Vancouver tomorrow.

Already she is really making it feel like our place. One week from today I will be in San Francisco.

Ubuntu & I’m too smart for my own good

With the immediate arrangements for me “volunteering” for my employer, Flock, I booted up a “400$ special” PC, built myself 10 months ago. I have not used this PC much since starting with Merc, as they have met well all my “computing needs” ;-) At Merc I had 4 PCs (2 of them top of the line) and a not particular mobile, but true development box, Acer Laptop. This PC of mine was still running the previous version (warty) of the OS, Ubuntu, so I proceeded to update it with confidence as I would with any Debian-based distro.
